If you’re child happens to “go off on one” which happens most days in any household with young kids, instead of joining the bedlam by screaming and shouting or punishing the child why not try something new?
In the heat of the moment when tantrums come out of nowhere the hardest thing in the world to do is remain calm and ignore the behaviour but what if you try kneeling down and hugging them until the storm passes? Surely it’s worth a shot?
It’s difficult to reason with a frantic child so maybe sometimes you don’t have to, you just have to be there and be calm, that calm might just transfer to them.
